Hi all. Just joined the list due to a this little problem. I am running Ubuntu 7.04 on a Dell Inspiron 1501 with a Dell 1390 wireless card and using ndiswrapper 1.46 and the Dell R140747 driver.
Every time I boot, NM sees my access point and tries to connect but fails and displays the dual computer icon with the red x. I can left-click and select my network(already selected via radio button) and it repeats the same action. If I left click the icon, select "Create a new wireless network", let the name default to my computer name and click connect, it tries again and will time out. Then if I left-click and select my network, it will finally connect. I have to tell it to create a new network every time I reboot or rise from hibernation. What I think is a relevent log after a failure follows: tail /var/log/daemon.log Jun 17 00:49:34 di1501aj NetworkManager: <information>^Iwpa_supplicant(19981): skip - no WPA/RSN IE Jun 17 00:49:34 di1501aj NetworkManager: <information>^Iwpa_supplicant(19981): selected non-WPA AP 00:0f:3d:4f:7c:7a ssid='stoneypoint' Jun 17 00:49:42 di1501aj NetworkManager: <information>^IActivation (eth1/wireless): association took too long (>60s), failing activation. I tried re-installing networkmanager, but no satisfaction there.
