If anyone is interesting the pyNetworkManager can now be found
on google-code ( hopefully a more stable place to have it on ).

http://code.google.com/p/pynetworkmanager/

Its an library written to be easy to extend for different
toolkits and environments. And it doesn't depend on gnome
or kde.

It also includes two apps;
a gtk-window and
a xfce panel plugin

It works for now with NM 0.65 and
has some support for encryption. ( WEP and WPA is pretty
much fully implemented, but buggy and not well tested ).

Best regards
  Martin
