I have been thinking about supporting bonding in NetworkManager (personally, I'd _love_ to have it), some people even argue that the current multiple device support does not make sense without bonding. There's an issue though with using bonding with wpa_supplicant (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=483207 , http://hostap.epitest.fi/bugz/show_bug.cgi?id=270) so that needs to get solved first.
