OpenSSH 4.3 and later supports the ability to set up true VPNs directly through the SSH itself (not with OpenVPN or some other VPN product). I was wondering if you could add a VPN daemon for this type of connection to NetworkManager. Lots of people already run OpenSSH servers; and if this feature were available in a simple interface then it would bring convenience to lots of people.
