Out of curiosity, what specific options are look looking for?  You may
be able to get around this by adding them to /etc/ppp/options or
something like that, but otherwise you'd probably need to add them to
the options verification code.  That's there to make sure that people
don't do wierd things since the options get passed on the command line
as root.
