You really don't like calling it a 'trojan', do you? :)

But that's really what it is -- it's binary code from a third party with
a history of writing insecure crap, which is designed to poke at your
system and post reports back to an https server.

There's a reason it's disabled by default, even though that means you
won't be able to log into a server which requires it.
