It seems after a change of theme of the desktop, (not sure about this), the
nm-applet icon disappears and wired connection to network (and modem) was lost.
The process worked fine from the begin.
The process nm-applet is running in System Monitor.
Ubuntu version: 10.04
Kernel: 2.6.32-30 generic
Gnome: 2.30.2
