When I was testing with it, IP4 and ip6 configs would still get committed separately, one after the other. Once removed, I actually could get ip4 configs to be applied as soon as they are available without blocking what's being done for ipv6; but I'm very open to changing this around if you have ideas on how to better deal with this.
