Bug 6182 - ab starts too many connections?

Folks,

  if someone is particularly interested in or familar with ApacheBench, please look
at this bug report in bugs.apache.org.  

  Since rbb has put out the call to put out the bugs and status showstoppers so we
can someday soon release a 2.0 server, this doesn't directly affect our ability to
do so.  But it would be nice to fix :-)
