Access problem

Dear Friends,

I have configured the apache 1.3 on RHL6.2 as described, but 
when first tried to access it through http://localhost/  it denied as 
follows:

"You don't have permission to access / on this server
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apache 1.3.12 Server at localhost port 80"

Can any help me to locate where is the problem.
