Taking it back. Threaded is O.K. It was my ulimit settings. However, we need to doc up that on Linux, since threads are treated as clone()d processes without their own virtual address space, ulimit applies to threads. Hence, setting a large number of threads in threaded's configuration on Linux requires an equivalent raising of the process ulimit, if one is set. Victor -- Victor J.
