Hmmm... My Solaris 8/Intel box at home using /usr/ccs/bin/make works
fine.  Now I'm on the Solaris system where it blows:

Weird that it is GNU make...  I edited the GNU make binary and
verified that it has that exact message format.

That is the same version of GNU make that groks the makefile fine on a
Linux box I have.
