OTOH, as it stands today, apachectl restart won't be any faster than graceful on both threaded and worker if any threads are tied up on long requests. Jeff has an idea which should take care a lot of that. I would recommend that admins for sites with traffic who want to use threaded, use apachectl graceful with 2.0.23. Greg
