You apparently do not have the source files in that directory.  You need to go
to your RPMS directory and install the following.

           kernel-headers.2.0.36-3.i386.rpm
           kernel.2.0.36-3.i386.rpm

Not sure about the headers...they should already be installed...but since you
dont have a linux directory under /usr/src  than you might install the headers
anyway.  Than once you do that, go to the linux directory and do you make
xconfig.  Should work than....or I hope....<g>

Download the lates image file for Mandrake 5.3.  It has the latest XFree in it.
