You might find "Running Linux" a good choice. It's published by
O'Reilly and Associates and I believe the book is brown and white with a
horse on the front (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
Given the choice between anything published by O'Reilly and another
publisher, I tend to stick with O'Reilly. These guys REALLY publish
classy, useful books.
