one of the differences between RH5.2 and Mandrake5.3 is XFree3.3.3.1
instead of XFree3.3.2 (in RH 5.2). Generally, the recognition is
_better_ in 3.3.3.1 ;-)
Anyways, your problem can come from Xconfigurator. Please try our last
version from the updates/ directory of one our FTP mirrors.
