Since the G200 doesn't have 3D hardware support under Linux yet anyway,
that speed isn't going to matter much for now (XFree86 4.0 might
drastically change that outlook). As far as 2D performance, XFree86
3.3.3.1 release notes mention that the Matrox servers are one of the
fastest in the distribution.
I'd also vote for one of the G200 cards. I've got an 8M AGP G200 that
I've been extremely happy with. Works great under Linux, 2D is fine in
Windows. There seems to be an issue with my MB/VidCard/AGP under
Windows though...
