don't make me laugh, i'm supposed to be mad/upset right now <g>.
seriously though. no i never ever did get one. i thought i would only
see a mouse with X.

let's see installed RH5.0 a couple of times,skipped RH5.1 altogether,
RH5.2 oh, lost count on that one, come to find out that i wouldn't be
able to run X as my card needed a new tarball, since it's not
connected to the net yet, i ordered mandrake, becuz of it's features
and the thought that i would be able to use my video card. since i
hadn't figured out how to mount my LS120 so tht i could sneakernet
newer files, it was easier to order it, then that way i would just
have the cd and wouldn't have to make images.

plus it justified the cost for building a new machine ;-).

i've decided i may just reinstall but have a question on that:

if i let it just do it's thing without being in expert mode what
should i choose?

workstation or Server?

to be honest i don't like the fact that i don't have any control over
installation. (
hate it with that ms stuff)

well the only other mice in the house are:

ms instupidmouse w/wheel - ps/2
intellimouse w/o wheel - serial
ibm - ps/2

now on windoze side of things it didn't like the ms instupidmouse on
either w95 or w98

i've had more problems with ps/2 type mice then i'd care to count.

but what the heck it may act like it has some sense under linux.

no need to apologise i personally find it quite interesting and as
you can tell i'm pretty good at troubleshooting on my own and know
when to ask for help <g>
