G'day
I have not used NT, but Windows, and it is nessesary to install 95/98
first as windows blindly overwrites the MBR, linux does allow you to
boot other OSs, you will be asked at the end of the install to add the
other OSs, and then when at the login: prompt if you hit Tab you will be
presented with the OS boot options.
