I can tell you why it doesn't work, but I don't know exactly how to
fix it. The problem is that DOS doesn't support file permissions, so
Linux has to assume a basic set of permissions for any DOS volume it
mounts. You can specify the permissions to use, but I don't remember
exactly how to do that (though I think it can be done in /etc/fstab).
