Greetings, you-who-are-wiser-than-i-am:

I am currently in the process of making the jump... (im gonna buy the Mandrake CD from
my local distributor this week). But I am currently in the "get all the info you can
get about your system"

Living in Mexico, and having not much money, I have scrounged my way to a computer
(you would have to see what you can get in the flea markets!).

AMD processor (is there any other?^_-) K6200, 40k ATAPI CD-Rom, floppy, a second hand
1.2 Gig Seagate hard drive... Yamaha OPL SAx soundcard with cheap speakers... Cirrus
Logic GD5436/5446 video card, 14.4 modem (im planning on changing this one, but Im
wary of buyin a dumb winmodem)... Everything is being documented...

Problem is... my monitor is a complete mystery. Its an old Compaq that a friend gave
to me, it was part of his 386 setup...
In windblows, it works as "standard VGA monitor" and also works under "Acer 11D", but
fails to enable 800-600 resolution in both cases (I use it in 640x480)...

Can I use this under Linux? Can i get it to run 800-600?

Thanks...

Jose Alberto

PD.- How about a Genius Netmouse with the wheel at the middle?
