[newbie] Which file include "PATH" ?

Hi:
   I have installed interbase v4 on linux. But these files located at
"/usr/interbase/bin" which not include in my PATH? I have to change my path
manually with "PATH= PATH:/usr/interbase/bin". The PATH is lost after
booting.
   I think there must have some file include PATH. But I can found
it.Please!
