I currently have the Diamond Viper V550. It installs properally except when I go to run X Windows it crashes and freezes up or it freezes the processor. I know in windows I have to set the acceleration to 50% unlike 100%. I think X WINDOWS is trying to use 100% and therefore in turn crashed my p133 processor. Ialso had trouble with my Viper 550. Use Xconfigurator from the command prompt and follow the instructions. You may need the specifications for your monitor if it's not one of those listed. Hope this helps to get X Windows up and running.
