I've problem with man pages too.
I've installed italian language but when I do 'man [comando]'
I can see

<standard input>:42: warning: can't find character with input code 171
<standard input>:42: warning: can't find character with input code 187
<standard input>:43: warning: can't find character with input code 236
<standard input>:51: warning: can't find character with input code 224
<standard input>:55: warning: can't find character with input code 249
<standard input>:75: warning: can't find character with input code 233
<standard input>:96: warning: can't find character with input code 242
<standard input>:149: warning: can't find character with input code 201
and I can't see accented characters (as a` e` etc)
