I've spent many an hour now trying to configure the Xfree86 that came with
my Mandrake package, and the error message of choice seems to be:
Fatal server error:
No valid modes found.
I attempted to reconfigure the xf86config file by making sure that all of
the modes reflected the basic "640x480", which then led to the message
stating that my chipset configuration was invalid.
I know that my chipset config is probably not invalid, so how do I
configure the modes for my monitor so that I might actually, one day, see
what an X window looks like outside of a screenshot?
If anyone, anyone at all, has any advice, I would love to hear it.
