To everyone who had problems getting Venus to boot. I have
mine booting perfectly now. Here's how it happened.....
I installed Venus and of course it hung at the "creating
/mnt/disk" message. I don't know why (fate, maybe?) but I
pressed the "TURBO" switch and it continued on. So I logged
in as root.
>From there I went to /etc/rc.sysinit. I used vi (good thing
I had some instructions on how to use it) Type vi
/etc/rc.sysinit. It doesn't look like it does anything, but
it does. Go down to the part where it says "hard disk
optimization." Press the "i" key to start "recording".
Comment out the lines by placing the "#" sign in front of
them. When you're done, hit the "ESC" key. You'll see a
colon. Hit "wq" (no quotes) and you're done! Shut down and
reboot if you're feeling adventurous....
Sure hope it helps somebody.....
