I'm trying to install mandrake 6 via lan. My card is a D-link DFE530-TX
(PCI bus) which uses the VIA-Rhine chip as seen in
cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/via-rhine.html. The card works well
under windows95 using irq=11 and i/o=D800-D87F.
Unfortunately, the installation disk does'nt recognize the card as
VIA-Rhine. I've tried also NE2000 (on both flavours), some 3com, and
others with no success at all.
I've not tried to recompile the kernel in order to test the card under
my working mandrake 5.3 installation.
I know the above "symptoms" are not exhaustive, but I asks some hints.
