There are files in /usr/src/linux-x.x.x/Documentation/sound which show the
correct modules and config files to load and make for sound. I think the
sndconfig is a bit behind the curve with all the OS changes in the newer
kernels.
Take a look at the FAQ at Linux-Mandrake .com for info about the printer.
The newer printer module should be downloaded and used. Unfortunately
there is a small faux pas in the newer printer module as well, in the
packaging, so use rpm --nodeps -ivh <name of printer module> to get it to
install without a spurious error message.
