If you can run X, click on the "K | settings | nformation | interrupts" and if there's no conflict there, try "K | settings | information | IO Ports" and see if there's anything there. Chances are there's something conflicting with the Sound Blaster or else you are trying to use the wrong drivers. Have you downloaded the drivers from the Creative Labs site? If not, you might need to do that first.
