How can I embed high-bit characters in Linux text files such as issue and motd? Hmm. There's another high-bit issue. Using Red Hat 5.0, I accidentally cat'ed an executable binary to the screen. Afterwards, all text was replaced with high-bit characters (you know... the ones after 127). I fixed it by typing reset. What gives?
