a ramdac is something to do with your video card. i guess that means
that your card or the drivers are having trouble. when you do
xf86config, and go into the card def stage, be sure you select your
video chip set, and NOT the card name you are using. look in your cards
manual for the chip set that it uses, and find that in the list. for
instance, i have a diamond stealth 3D 4000, but when i set it up i just
use generic s3 virge gx2 chipset with 4 meg memory, and it all works
fine. just follow its instructions for what xserver to use, and also if
you should probe clocks and such.
