What was your onboard sound?

Ensoniq/Creative PCI Sound (1370, 1371 series ) is relatively easy to set up...  Boot in Linux single and run sndconfig for best results.

Finally given up on trying to get the onboard sound to work anyone got a
recommendation on a good sound card for linux?  From what I read in the
archives the SB Live isn't ready for linux without some major updating
and I would assume the same is true for SB Live/Value.  How about the SB
PCI128 ?  I don't have a clue how to install downloads yet and am
looking for something simple (or REALLY detailed instructions on the
install [RTFM] -it's probably very simple but PLEASE go easy it's my
first time <GRIN>.
