Hi there:

   Thanks for the suggestions.  I tried to get the cooker mirror as 
suggested by Axalon.  However, I am unable to do so because I do not have a 
working version of Linux-Mandrake installed.  I cannot boot my machine with 
the provided boot kernel because I get access errors to both the secondary 
harddrive and the CD-R/RW drive.

   Is there anything else I can try? Or, should I just give up 
Linux-Mandrake altogether and go back to Slackware?
