Well, my point was that a CLEAN install would be best. Of course
there's ALWAYS "work-arounds" as this is Linux we're talking about.
:-) The easiest way would be to move all the stuff from /opt/kde to
/usr, and just make a symbolic link from /opt/kde to /usr for those
programs that still insist on seeing KDE stuff in /opt/kde. At least
that's what I recall reading before. If you're /home is on it's own
directory, I see no reason you couldn't salvage it during a full /
clean install. However, if you have backup capability (I don't at the
moment...haven't hooked up my external SCSI tape drive and don't have
any tapes for it either <G> Then again, this is a brand new install,
with very little that would be unrecoverable if I had to do a fresh
install <G>) I'd back up your /home directory tree and anything else
that's irreplaceable or just difficult to replace, and reinstall.
