Real newbie answering here but I give it a stab..........


It might be easier to just fix the mouse.  What do you have?

You might want to try a "generic mouse" and make sure to disable the "3
button emulation".

At the LILO (at bootup) type     linux 3  ( might be linux3 without the
space   8-) ) and rerun the Xconfigurator.
