Hauppauge, It's been done, and Yes.
Now the semi long one, Your looking for information on video4linux (v4l).
All the modules should be there that any documentation you find might
mention, so you can ignore (if you'd like) any of the kernel compileing
instructions. A good starting point would be the "Linux documentation
project" http://metalab.unc.edu/LDP , and it's various mirrors.
You can try this, (note i haven't set this up before my tv card is an ATI,
and isn't supported yet by video4linux, only gatos)
modprobe videodev
modprobe bttv
You should see something like
Hauppauge eeprom: tuner=
