However Nvidia cards put a heavy load on the system bus and power supply. Achieving stability takes a bit of luck. I've tried putting two GeForce2 cards into a single Intel815e motherboard. This works, though only with the XFREE 4.x drivers supplied with Mandrake. The native NVIDIA drivers cause immediate freezing. Even with Xfree's drivers my system would hang up during heavy loads on the CPU... Eg. 4:30am during the Linux Witching hour. I've had NO luck with quite a number of SMP motherboards running PIII's and PII's. Ugh. Only later motherboards seem able to cope with the load and you'll also need a beefier power supply than that found on a lot of PCs. That said, you may also want to look into the "TwinView" type cards that feature two built in monitor output ports. E.G. the Matrox, etc. These solve most of the problems for you. -JMS Would an S3 Virge work too as the second card? I know it wont' in windows... but thought i'd ask. The main ones a GeForce2. Femme
