I've just installed Mandrake 8.2 on my Dell Inspiron 8100 as a complete Linux system (no dual boot). The machine has a CD-ROM built in and a hardware module bay in which I can put a CDRW, a ZIP-250 or a Floppy. I installed Mandrake with the CDRW in the module bay.
I have three problems: 1) If I swap out the CDRW module for say the Zip drive, the ZIP drive doesn't work. Does anyone know how to get this to work? I shutdown the machine before taking out the CDRW module and putting in the ZIP. 2) Next to the on-off button there are two volume buttons (an up-volume and a down-volume). These don't seem to work. Does anyone know how to get them to work? 3) From time to time, a command will hang. One example was doing a find. I've no idea why it should do this. I'd greatly appreciate any help/advice anyone can give. Thanks. Adrian
