Here is what I get (this is _not_ a ML8.2 supplied driver!):
[root@amd frans]# modprobe snd-ens1371
/lib/modules/2.4.18-6mdk/kernel/sound/pci/snd-ens1371.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO
or IRQ parameters
modprobe: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.18-6mdk/kernel/sound/pci/snd-ens1371.o failed
modprobe: insmod snd-ens1371 failed
[root@amd frans]#
Note that it says 'hint' and 'can be caused' :) The reason it failed for me
was that I don't have that card: 'init_module: No such device'.
This error can also be the result of not having 'PnP OS installed' set to
'no' in the BIOS. Or an IRQ conflict or having loaded another driver for
your card already. You can check loaded modules with '/sbin/lsmod'.
Your module does not require or even accept IO and IRQ parameters.
You can check that in /usr/src/linux-2.4.18-6mdk/alsa-driver-0.5.12a/INSTALL
or use '/sbin/modinfo snd-card-ens1371'.
I suggest sending the output from 'modprobe -v snd-card-ens1371' to the list.
Good luck!
