1. Run linuxconf in a su terminal. i.e. open a console and type "su" and then give the root password. then type "linuxconf">networking>Host name and IP network devices. Change the host name there. Then click on the dismiss buttons till you are back to the console and type in "exit" and "exit". Your machine name should be changed. I don't believe you need to do anything more than that.
