>From time to time people have asked about antivirus, and I would like to
offer the following as my experience that may be relevant.

In Windows I have used Kaspersky, first as a stand-alone, then, with help
from their tech support, set up in such a way that I downloaded the regular
updates and my client machines simply downloaded the files from my computer
to theirs.

Since spending most of my time in Linux I began to resent having to go into
Windows each Saturday to get the files, so I again approached their tech
support. It took a couple of tries to explain the problem (remember they are
Russian) but I got a very clear instruction to duplicate my previous Windows
setup - with three ways of achieving it - true Linux style :-).

This guy obviously knew his Linux (they do a Linux AV product, though I
haven't bought it yet), making specific references to wget and squid.

They also have a very useful viruslist page, worth checking when friends
think they've got that grey bear thingy.

If it's of any interest to you they are found at www.kaspersky.com. Try also
www.viruslist.com.
