Hi everyone,

I am a newbie with MD.2 dual booted with Windows. This setup was working
for me until a few days ago when Windows crashed while I was playing new
game. Afterwards I found that my Linux desktop was corrupted. The icons
were hugh and mostly off the screen. At this time I did not think about
trying to change the resolution.

What I did try was:
--formatted partition and reinstalled Linux -- several times
both recommendated installation and then expert.
--reinstalled Linux on a different partition.
--erased partition and tried again.
--wiped entire hard drive, reinstalled Windows (different version) and then
set up new partitions and reinstalled Linux.

The resolution of the icons has been normal since the first re-installation
of Linux. However, all the windows are too large including the desktop
which extends way off the screen. I was able to drag some of the icons onto
the screen by their edges. Others are out of reach. I cannot even see the
panel in Gnome but am able to reach the "start button" in KDE--I can't see
it. I got into the control panel but could find no way to fix this
situation.

Does anyone know what is going on here? Thanks in advance for any ideas.
