        Thanks for the reply..The version I use is from the Mandrake cdrom..ie

[root@localhost /]# mozilla --version
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.8) Gecko/20020204, build 
2002031216
I did the install from a coverdisk and am wondering if I bought the 3cd 
pack it would install java automatically...I know several people who 
havew no problem with java so this is perhaps the route they have taken ??
