John I assume you got this off cooker? I do not know what is wrong with your rebuild, but spamassassin-2.31-1mdk.rpm is on Mandrake Club for 8.2 and it installs perfectly.
If you are not a club member let me know and I will send you the rpm as an attachment. BTW: In order for spamassassin to perform the full suite of tests you should also install perl-Net-DNS RPM and also edit the file ~/.spamassassin/user_prefs file to add these lines (the file will not appear until you run spamassassin for the first time) score RCVD_IN_RBL 10 score RCVD_IN_RSS 1 score RCVD_IN_DUL 1 score RCVD_IN_BL_SPAMCOP_NET 4 This will cause spamassassin to perform those tests which require a paid subscription for commercial use, but which are free for personal use. The documentation on the spamassasssin site tells you how to configure procmail or kmail to interface into it. derek On Monday 09 Sep 2002 10:59 am, John Richard Smith wrote: > I downloaded spamassassin-2.31-2mdk.src.rpm and attempted to rebuild:- > > # cd /pk > # rpm --rebuild spamassassin-2.31-2mdk.src.rpm > Installing spamassassin-2.31-2mdk.src.rpm > Executing(%prep): /bin/sh -e /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.6485 > > ------------< big snip >-------------------- > > Executing(%install): /bin/sh -e /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.62869 > + umask 022 > + cd /usr/src/RPM/BUILD > + cd Mail-SpamAssassin-2.31 > + '[' /var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root '!=' / ']' > + rm -rf /var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root > + make prefix=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root/usr > exec_prefix=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root/usr > bindir=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root > /usr/bin sbindir=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root/usr/sbin > sysconfdir=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root/etc > datadir=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root > /usr/share includedir=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root/usr/include > libdir=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root/usr/lib > libexecdir=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root > /usr/lib localstatedir=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root/var/lib > sharedstatedir=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root/usr/com > mandir=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root > /usr/share/man infodir=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root/usr/share/info > install PREFIX=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root//usr > INSTALLMAN1DIR=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root/ > /usr/share/man/man1 > INSTALLMAN3DIR=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root//usr/share/man/man3 > LOCAL_RULES_DIR=/var/tmp/spamassassin-2.31-root/etc/mail/spamassassin > make: *** No rule to make target `pure_vendor_install', needed by > `pure_install'.
