Hi. I use NFS with my 3 Mandrake boxes and it works great. I don't use NIS though (have no need to), so I can't help you there, but maybe this website can (its helped me tremendously!): http://www.ibiblio.org/mdw/HOWTO/NFS-HOWTO/ I believe there is a NIS section as well as lots of other great stuff.
