Hi Sharrea. I had this same problem. I installed the full (Loki purchase) version of Q3 and got the same sound error you did. I had to downloand a point release from the ID Software web site. This fixed it. To see if it is a problem with your sound drivers, you can start the game with no sound, like this: quake3 +set s_initsound 0 If it does run with no sound - then it is a sound driver issue.
