I am pretty sure that I ran sndconfig as root, in fact i thought it was
impossible to run it as a regular user, was I wrong? If so I will try
again as root. If not, this is not the solution to my problem (I think I
have used sndconfig properly and that it did change settings for dma irq
etc)
