Solved my previous RPM problem myself. When I ftp'd the file to Linux I did an ASCII transfer, not binary. So, I've managed to upgrade to XFree86-3.3.5-1 and my S3 Trio3D chipset graphics card is now supported (just about) and working. So, I have pretty pictures, but unfortunately my mouse pointer will no longer move. It's a standard MS type mouse connected to COM1: I have looked at the XFree86 config file and it has the standard default mouse pointer entries. Once previously I got my graphics card to respond with an earlier version of XFree86 and although I got a very low graphics resoloution, the mouse worked. Can anyone suggest why my mouse won't mouse. Is there a RPM package for the latest XFree86 that handles mouse drivers etc. It's possible that I missed such a file during my upgrade.
