I had the same probem with my tulip based card
could not get the cable modem stuff working.
I went and grabbed .91 of tulip. compiled it
instmod it the modprobed it and it the nic came up.
then i ran linuxconf and configured eth0 to use the tulip driver and made
it
DHCP proto.
saved/exitited linuxconf then did a ipdown eth0 and a ifup eth0
and wallah!
inter-bliss!!

Did u update the tulip driver? The stock driver with 6.0 doesnt seem to
work with some cards. Grab the .91 driver.
