I have not been following this thread, but there are two simple mistakes 
people often make with Postfix that may help you.

1/ Your hostname *must* include a domain name.
Hence 'jordan.localdomain' is acceptable, but 'jordan' is not.

2/ You *must* define an alias for the user to receive root's error mails. Look 
at the bottom of the default /etc/postfix/aliases file for guidance. After 
changing the aliases file run 'newaliases'
